In Concert
I was fortunate to see Bob recently in both Dayton and Kent State University. I have added my thoughts about each show and the tremendous experience each one was and how different they were and great in their own right.

Here is my ticket stub for Dayton. For some reason at Kent, they took my ticket. I think the person doing the ticket taking just took the ticket part and gave me the little thing on the end with the bar code. What a bummer!

DAYTON~November 02, 2002
This night was very special for me, as an evening with Bob always is. However, this one had many added memory makers. First of all, I took my nieces Noa and Noelle who are youngens of 12 and 10. I wanted to give them something to remember and cherish and we got it for sure! Also I had my best friend Kim (we missed you Kate!) and I met up with a trading buddy of mine, Jenette. What a special evening already. Then Bob took the stage and although I knew he was playing piano it was great to see and hear it for that first time. Of course one of the highlights of this show was Ballad Of A Thin Man. Now, I think prayer really works....just before the show I was saying (with the addition of the piano it heightened my hopes) maybe this would be the night we'd hear Ballad. Now, either he or the angels were listening in! What a treat! The covers lent quite an interesting twist to the evening. Larry and Charlie (and Bob of course_) were meant to sing together. The vocals on Old Man knocked me out and nearly brought tears to my eyes. I cannot say enough about this band of his! Some people are destined to hang it out there together and this group of people fit into this catagory. Summer Days was the absolute best song I've ever heard live in my life. In The Summertime is a treat for us all this tour. It stands up there with the best of Bob's declaration of continued salvation. I could go on and on however there are many reviews out there. Needless to say I was touched as always and I say a prayer that it was a night for my nieces to remember always.

KENT STATE UNIVERSITY~November 03, 2002
This was a day for the books! We (my good friend Jenette and I) got to Kent State in the early afternoon and staked our claim to the rail! I have to stop here and say a few things about "the line." First of all, if you are open you can meet some of the neatest folks in line. I mean, after all, you are there for HOURS and why not make the best of it and honor Mr. Dylan by being kind and courteous and making folks feel great about being in line with you! I met some great gals from Ohio University who loved Bob and it was evident. I met a great gal named Tammy and believe me, we went through a security haul together! The next thing I wanna say about standing in line is DON'T FRICKIN' CUT!!! It's not only rude and mean spirited but it dishonors whatever feelings you may have for Bob Dylan. We had been there all day and as the line began to swell to get inside, more than one person took advantage of it...I'm thinking of one gal imparticular who ended up right directly in front of me on the rail...a position I had been waiting for since 2 p.m. She had been there since about 5:30 p.m. I know it may sound silly but please think about folks and be generous. Now, on to the show...although I wasn't RIGHT on the rail I had some nice guys around me who fixed it so I could see Bob right on. I WAS SO CLOSE IT MADE MY HEAD SPIN! This was a first for me. I was moved. He started out with Maggie's Farm which is actually the song that began my whole journey with Bob's music so it was fitting. Now, you've likely seen the set list so I won't go through it all but some highlights for me were Things Have Changed and In The Summertime. High Water is always a treat. But, for me the most moving part of the evening was hearing and seeing It's Allright, Ma that up close and for me very personal. Now, we've all heard that song both live and in our homes a million times. But, it had an effect on me as it never had before. He seemed to want to get it across. He wanted to relay important information. I'm a romantic...but, I felt something very moving as if I were in a real, honest, heart-felt prayer meeting. If you've never been up close at a Dylan show try it. I had a few tears and went home.

Drop me a line and give me some personal thoughts on shows you have attended!

Here is a place to get great reviews and setlists!
