IT CAME AND WENT!!!!!
My trip to our neighbors fair city was filled with lots of interesting people and sights and sounds. I spent Thursday in Niagara Falls and yes, even rode the Maiden Of The Mist. However, I am so oblivious at times...I didn't realize that Hamburg, which is where Bob played the night before, is simply a stone's throw aways from The Falls! Pretty out there of me, wouldn't you say?

THE MOLSON AMPHITHEATRE~Toronto, Canada
This is the place. The venue sits right on the lake and right in the middle of Canada's National Exhibition which had started that very day. It made for huge crowds and lots of walking!
  FACES IN THE CROWD
It's always great to meet Bob fans at shows. I met some very cool people from the Dylan Pool and talked with several people out on the lawn. I had the pleasure of making a new friend who loves the Beatles....HI TIM!!!!!

There are always those folks in the crowd that give you a good chuckle. During a fantastic rendering of IT'S ALLRIGHT, MA (I'M ONLY BLEEDING) the gal sitting next to me asked when if I thought he might play some of his "real famous songs." I told her that it didn't get much more famous than that and although she didn't seem satisfied I think she was a bit embarrassed! A young couple practically making love directly in front of me came up only for the occasional "YEAH...BOBBY D" yell!

It's always interesting to see the faces in the crowd. I noticed a lot of really young people...like high school age kids and I find that both fascinating and wonderful! Who else could truly cross the generations in such a fashion?

THE SONGS
A VOICE FROM ON HIGH~One that I am unfamiliar with but fantastic nevertheless. Great vocals and great words. a very spiritual message and I always listen to this side of Dylan. Already the singing is going very well!

WATCHING THE RIVER FLOW~A treat as I have never heard this one live and love it! Very beautifully done with great care.

IT'S ALLRIGHT, MA (I'M ONLY BLEEDING)~Did this one sound a bit different or was it just me? Bob is singing tonight as if he has something riding on it. His voice sounds incredibly good and he is taking his time with it.

FOREVER YOUNG~This one got me a bit choked up. As you can see, I go for the emotion not the technique and this one had it at least for me. It touched on some things that I have been dealing with in my own life and really spoke to me on this particular evening.

TWEEDLE DEE & TWEEDLE DUM~Gettin' down with it and the crowd really responded to it. Charlie seems to be really goin' at it this evening. And Receili seems to be working out just fine....maybe better?!

UNDER THE RED SKY~Well, some folks said that he had touched this one the night before in Hamburg and frankly it sounded better live than it does on the record.

FLOATER~This is a great song and lyrically is so wonderful. Bob really likes to draw out the "too much to ask" at the end and it moved me a bit.

HIGH WATER (FOR CHARLEY PATTON)~Of course one of my favorite Dylan tunes period! New arrangement as we have been hearing...strong down beat and lots of guitar work. I really like it cause it gets with it however I think I prefer the previous arrangement.

MASTERS OF WAR~The crowd really responded to this one. I think it was a little slow and the arrangement is hard to follow however a treat to hear always.

TANGLED UP IN BLUE~Workin' everybody up into a total frenzy with those acoustic guitar gods! I must repeat that I think Bob is singing better than I have ever heard him sing. It moves me.

I SHALL BE RELEASED~Another "moment" for me. Those voices were just meant to sing together...and Bob's phrasing in between the harmonies is right on. This is really what I like to call "caring for the song." This was done with what seemed like great care as if he were holding a biddy baby!

SUMMER DAYS~As some of us were discussing before the show....this one belongs to Charlie. Enough said!

MOONLIGHT~Well, Mr. Dylan almost hit my "naked trilogy" with his rendering of this tune which makes me swoon! Beautifully done. Vocals just right there and the band followed with care.

THE WICKED MESSENGER~Ah, the place was rockin' out! And great sounds from those guitars, man!

RAINY DAY WOMEN #12 & 35~Bob came out from behind the dark before the show clapping his hands and shuffling his feet before the drum beat ever hit! What a strange and wonderful sight! Great band intros and solos...George is hittin' it with me. He took the beat to places unknown! I love this band.

ENCORE

HONEST WITH ME~Full on rockin'. And the voice, man...I can't say it enough. This got the entire crowd up to their feet dancin' away. I even moved to that sound a bit myself!

BLOWIN' IN THE WIND~Of course a crowd pleaser. I love the harmonies in this song. Beautiful.

ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER~It seemed that Bob was just waiting to play this one. But, I was holding my breath because I knew it was over...until next time....
